Joe Bevan has had a notable career in Indigenous governance, economic development, financial management, and major project development. With more than three decades of experience, including service as Chief of the Kitselas First Nation, Joe has supported Nation-led strategy, business development, governance, and commercial partnerships across Northwest British Columbia.
Having formally held prominent governance roles as Chair of the First Nations Major Projects Coalition, Chair of the First Nations Finance Authority, and Director with the First Nations LNG Alliance, Joe has shaped policy and practice at the intersection of Indigenous rights and resource development. He currently serves as a Board Director with the BC Energy Regulator and is also the Chair of Governance and Human Resource Committee.
Joe holds an MBA from Royal Roads University with a specialty in Management Consulting and has extensive hands-on experience in accounting, financial management, strategic planning and governance.
As an Advisor at Sedgwick Strategies, he supports clients with Indigenous engagement, governance design, deal structuring, building trusts, and unlocking long-term, shared economic benefit for Indigenous partners and project proponents alike.
